Karl Lagerfeld’s New Affordable Label, “Karl”

Every Baller on a Budget’s dream has come true, Karl Lagerfeld has come out with an affordable line! It is an honor to be able to wear something designed by the king of fashion, and now this honor has become much more achievable. It is currently being sold on net-a-porter.com, and although it may not have the pricing of an H&M collaboration (the items are mostly in the $100-$500 range), it is still the most inexpensive line Karl Lagerfeld creation you will find. Every piece is amazing, I honestly don’t know how to choose what to purchase! Full of leather, metallics, and edgy shapes, this line is totally my style. It even has a pair of the signature Karl Lagerfeld fingerless gloves! And obviously I am not the only one who feels this way, his stuff is selling out fast.

The Perfect Pair of Flats (They Even Smell Like Bubblegum)

I am always on the hunt for a good pair of black flats. I wear them all the time and so I seem to go through them so quickly! However, several months ago I found a true gem on my fave site, amazon.com, that completely solved my problem (at least until they go out of style). I found these adorable Mel by Melissa flats that are not only stylish, but also incredibly durable because they are made of rubber. If they ever get dirty I just wipe them down, and the rubber doesn’t wear at all, especially compared to leather or patent. The rubber also makes them look super clean cut and fresh, and to be honest, you can’t really tell they are rubber until you get a closer look. Not to mention they come in an array of fun colors and are only $30!! Shocking right?! I get compliments on them all the time, and I am now thinking about ordering them in more colors just because they are so perfect and easy. I love the little bow on the front, and of course the Melissa signature bubblegum smell of the rubber…seriously though, my shoes smell like bubblegum.

Which color do you think I should get next?

One Word…AMAZON

One of my first posts for “Baller on a Budget” had to be about Amazon.com because I am obsessed. Not just because of the deals but because it has the best prices for everything so I don’t have to bother looking anywhere else. Now, I’m not talking about fashion, however, I have made some great shoe purchases that I will share at a later date (think Loeffler Randall), I am talking about all the stuff you don’t want to waste your time going to the store to buy. When it comes to electronic accessories, like chargers, cords, docks, etc., Amazon.com is the place to go. Similarly, I have bought basically the entire pink Susan G. Komen line of kitchen and school supplies on there, books, movies, beauty supplies, socks, underwear (they have Hanky Pankys), etc. I know it seems overwhelming because there is so much on there, but as my posts continue I will share some of the great purchases I have made and you soon too will contract the Amazon bug.

Jason Wu for Target [Images]!

I am beyond excited, this is probably one of the best collaborations to-date. There are so many pieces I am dying for in this collection! It is amazing! Elegant, chic, simple, and refined with beautiful lines and patterns. I love the mod buttoned-up shirts with mini-collars and black see-thru socks.

If You Like Topshop and H&M, You Will Like Asos

If you don’t know about Asos.com, you’re welcome in advance because it will change your life. I discovered Asos a couple years ago when seeing a dress from the site featured in a magazine. Ever since then I have been obsessed with their cutting edge style, unique pieces, and great prices. Asos has grown a lot over the past few years and, being a British site, they have now started to try to gain more of the US shoppers by opening up free shipping to the US…YES!! The Brits have always been at the forefront of the fashion game (P.S. I’m half British, my Dad was born there ;) ). In addition, they have also opened up Asos Marketplace, a place where individual (approved) sellers can sell their fashion goods. It takes a little more searching to find what you like in the Marketplace, however, the time is worth it because the pieces are beautiful and there is stuff that you will not find anywhere else.

Here are a few of the pieces I’ve purchased over the years… and I apologize in advance for the discombobulated photos, and for not remembering the prices of my earlier purchases. I am still on vacation in Palm Springs and don’t have my full wardrobe with me so was forced to use older pictures…
