What’s Better than Pinterest?…Wanelo!!

Warning all Pinterest addicts: I am about to inform you of a site even MORE dangerous than the former. Wanelo is an e-commerce/social media site designed in basically the same format at Pinterest (where you can essentially “pin,” but in this case “save” your interesting or uncommon finds and create different categories on your profile to save them to), the main difference is that most of the products on the site have direct links for PURCHASING. Yes, this means that when you see a cute dress, nail polish, or funky home item, you can just buy it right then and there. Now you understand the danger factor…

However, and this is a big one, the site has not nearly gotten to the level of popularity that Pinterest has. This means that what you will find product-wise, is somewhat lacking. Also, there is not a filter on the site that stops (or at least distinguishes into a different category) unavailable items/random pictures of models and tattoos from showing up…which you can obviously not buy.

I think the site has great potential, and it is amazing for various stores to showcase their items, especially if they end up making the “popular” or “trending” pages. It is definitely still a working progress though, and it needs more followers and people posting items to make it fun!

Certain websites/stores that have taken to it (making it fun!) are etsy.com, asos.com, Topshop, and NastyGal.
